The "refrigerator-type" computer room is the performance of the "cabinet group" mode, and the rack-level air conditioner is the performance of the "cabinet" mode. For IT equipment with higher power density, there are even "cabinet U"-level cooling systems and "server"-level cooling systems.


(2) The emergence of the concept of "machine room meteorology". With the advent of the rack-mounted era, there are obvious and severe local differences in the climate in the computer room. The "computer room environment" cannot describe the environment of individual IT equipment. "Environment" or "machine room weather" can truly describe the working environment of IT equipment.


(3) Energy-saving refrigeration technology will be developed and applied. For example, heat exchange equipment that uses outdoor air as a cooling source used in winter, and refrigeration equipment that is shared with building air conditioning systems (which can improve efficiency).


Computer room monitoring and management

(1) The control and management of IT equipment is developing towards centralized development. Various server equipment in the computer room, due to the emergence of KVM (keyboard monitor mouse switcher), has changed the equipment management mode based on stand-alone. IP-based, Internet, and IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) remote centralized management modes capable of managing different platforms are gradually being adopted.


(2) The monitoring and management of equipment in the computer room is developing towards networking and standardization. The situation of each equipment room equipment manufacturer using their own communication protocols will be changed, serial ports will be replaced by network ports, and all equipment will be managed based on IP.


(3) The control function of the equipment in the computer room will be strengthened. The control function of the equipment monitoring system in the computer room is no longer limited to switching on and off equipment and setting parameters, but also for automatic control of the computer room environment and IT micro-environment. For example, according to the calculation volume of the server, the air volume or air temperature of the cooling system can be adjusted in real time, or part of the lighting system can be automatically turned on when the operator enters the computer room.
